Coworking has proved to be far more than just a passing work-trend. Its rise to popularity has only continued to skyrocket, with countless new spaces opening up at a pace that is often hard to keep track of. This fast growth is far from unjustified, though. Our new era of working, characterized and driven by collaboration and innovation has given rise to an increasingly productive workforce – a result of increased happiness and satisfaction amongst employees.
The true beauty of coworking, though, lies in its side effect; It gives rise to a united community of startups and businesses that at their core, despite being so inherently different, are all making a difference and driven by the desire to do good in one way or another.
Here’s a quick-look into only a few of the startups that make up the oh-so-unique community of Mindspace Tel Aviv, each driving forward change in their own unique way:
Guggy allows users to seamlessly send text messages in the form of a customized GIF or sticker. The four-person team developed a messaging oriented natural language processing (NLP) engine that recreates text messages in real time by transferring inputted text onto context-appropriate GIFs or stickers. It was born out of its founders’ desire to bring to life a startup or technology that would combine humor and technology and be B2C oriented. Read more about Guggy’s business model and plans for the future here.
In the hospitality industry, we’ve got HotelsBI, essentially a Google-Analytics like solution for data processing and insight generation special-made for hoteliers. According to Leon Vaidman, CEO of the startup, “The hospitality industry is about twenty years behind in technology.” HotelsBI hopes to catch them up and help them compete with industry giants (the bookings sites) like Expedia and Bookings.com. Quite the mission…but they’re on track.
Next, meet Seegnature: the ultimate collaboration platform that helps companies facilitate remote work with an easy-to-use and highly accessible interface that lets you share and edit any document on-the-spot and videoconference while doing so. “Companies lacked a resource that would enable them to edit urgent documents in a quick and efficient manner,” says CEO Yair Ravid. From that lack Seegnature rose, giving companies the power to communicate and get things done in real time. Productivity boost? Check.
For fashion enthusiasts, O-cercle created a platform that forms a direct relationship between designers and their clients by letting the latter fund new collections of the former. The way it works is such: Designers present clients with a sneak peak to an upcoming collection and open it up to funding. Clients who choose to put down cash later get double the amount in credit to purchase from the designer once the collection launches. “This way, clients feel lucky, they feel involved,” says founder Ayala Maromi-Keynan. Another Mindspace-based team is responsible for the extraordinary: Helping couples bring bundles-of-joy into the world through surrogacy. Babybloom guides would-be parents through the very complex, long, and often extremely bureaucratic process of surrogacy in Israel. Over 150 families turned into even-happier families thanks to the step-by-step guidance of the Babybloom team – and that number is only growing. That’s a whole lot of happy families thanks to one special team.
