Big Bang: The weekend has arrived (finally), so why don’t you claim your disco nap before a long late night at the widely considered the best nightclub in Israel and one of the most esteemed and influential in the world.
It has won many and impressive titles by the local scene but its international name is as impressive, being named “One of the five best sound systems in the world” on England’s BBC Radio 1 and repeatedly being referred to as a “world class” venue by its international DJ guests.
The Block’s main pride is its custom-made analog sound system, designed by the club owner, Yaron Trax, and inspired by the great systems of the old New York City clubs of the 70’s and 80’s. The club regularly hosts some of the hottest names in the dance music industry, such as: Nina Kraviz, Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Dixon, Marcel Dettman, John Talabot, Louie Vega, Gilles Peterson, Apparat, Henrik Schwarz, Derrick Carter, DJ Harvey and many more.
The Block’s devoted crowd is an eclectic and colorful mix of people, forming a community that is not characterized by race, age, religion or sexual tendencies, but instead, united by the love of music and dance.
